An oasis of beauty and calm
in the midst of a busy urban
center that provides solace, serenity and inspiration.
WELCOME
Congregation Rodeph Sholom serves the community from cradle to
grave. By
both affirming life and honoring its passing, Union Field Cemetery has
become
an integral part of the lives of generations of New York City's Jewish
families.
In 1878, the Congregation dedicated the Union Field Cemetery to provide
dignified repose for members of the Jewish community. Our beautiful
sixty-
three acre cemetery at Cypress Avenue on the Brooklyn/Queens border
reflects the wisdom and foresight of our Congregation's founders. Our
cemetery is a forested enclave in the city where one can quietly remember
our
dear departed and meditate on those who came before us and those who will
follow.
OUR
COMMITMENT
Families choose Union Field
Cemetery for the peace of mind that comes with
our unmatched trust, integrity and value. To the Jewish people, death is the
portal to eternal life. We mourn for the departed, but we recognize our
obligation to grant them dignity in death. Providing for Jewish memorial and
burial are among the most important commitments that a Jewish community
makes to its members. It is with pride that we service the entire Jewish
community.
